I appreciate John asking for community partnership now, but again, shouldn't we be hearing about these proposals earlier in the process? Shouldn't we be setting the vision for development in our neighborhood?

I appreciate Jaigantic being open with their salary information, pay transparency is important to closing pay gaps and other problems. I'm also encouraged by the employee owned nature mentioned in Jaigantic's presentation, I'm curious to see the specifics of how it's implemented.
Andrew Giering
01:29:30
Peculiar reference there to unnamed, unidentified "people who have a problem with the breweries."

Excited for this program to provide street-based outreach and services to our neighbors. Let's center harm reduction, needle/syringe exchange, safe injecting practice education, etc. Supporting people where they are.

great question. anecdotal data has suggested that many patients with addiction in fair haven may not necessarily be residents of fair haven. but majority of our patients who are prescribed medications are from new haven/fair haven area. This is unfortunately small percent of people who may have use disorders. (in general <20% of patients with use disorders are engaged in treatment)
Sarah Miller
01:55:21
Would it be appropriate to revisit Armada and Jaigantic once there are revised proposals that demonstrate compatibility
Esther Rose-Wilen
01:56:01
Please use this link https://forms.gle/FUnKXynHNFiSYjEi7 to vote on whether the Fair Haven CMT should provide letters of support to Jaigantic Studios, Armanda Brewing, and the Fair Haven Community Health Clinic. To Sarah’s point if you feel undecided or that you need additional information, feel free to abstain or vote “no”
Sarah Miller
01:56:57
Voting “no” or abstaining is quite different from a request for a revised plan before we can vote
Esther Rose-Wilen
01:57:31
Hi Sarah I believe you could also make a motion to table the votes to the next meeting but I defer to the Chairs on the proper procedure
(TECH) Dave Weinreb (he/him/el)

Report from NHFPL: Arelys planned some self-directed scavenger hunts kids/families can do any time so they can still happen without her mediation. Our ESL Conversation Club has returned on Wednesday afternoons with our volunteer Sue Hackett. It's a fun, casual way for folks of any background to practice speaking English. I think you may know her from a variety of activities she does in the neighborhood (esp. the Gather New Haven community gardens). We'll have a mobile market day led by Common Ground on our front lawn on 8/18. This produce market we're generally marketing to folks who use food benefits programs to pay for produce as opposed to shoppers who can easily get to supermarkets or artisan farmer's markets. Finally, on 8/26 a speaker from the state Department of Labor's "Platform 2 Employment" will be in to have an info session about whether P2E is the right match for folks seeking a job who are long-term unemployed.
